Bitwise Files for First U.S. Stablecoin and Tokenization ETF Amid Sector Growth
Bitwise Asset Management has taken a pioneering step in bridging traditional finance with blockchain by filing for the first U.S. exchange-traded fund dedicated to stablecoins and tokenized assets. The Sept. 16 SEC submission underscores the accelerating convergence of Wall Street and crypto markets.
The proposed Bitwise Stablecoin & Tokenization ETF will operate as an actively managed '40 Act' fund, tracking a custom index that blends equities and crypto-linked products. With $15 billion in assets under management, Bitwise is positioning the fund to capitalize on record growth in stablecoin adoption and real-world asset tokenization.
Investment exposure splits evenly between two sleeves: a selection of 20-30 public companies involved in stablecoin issuance and tokenization infrastructure, and crypto-native instruments tied to these emerging sectors. This dual approach reflects the maturation of blockchain financial products as institutional demand grows.
